- A substance that absorbs or promotes retention of moisture; glycerol and sorbitol are example of humectants.
- Hydrate:
- To replace or add water or moisture.
- Hyperpigmentation:
- Darkening of the skin as a result of increased amount of melanin, commonly produced by tanning or exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
- Hypo-Allergenic:
- A substance that contains the fewest possible allergens. This does not indicate the product is allergy free, only a reduced chance of experiencing an allergic reaction.
