- Malic Acid:
- An acid found most abundantly in unripe grapes; a common glycolic agent for exfoliation and removal of dead skin.
- Mallow:
- A softening agent derived from plants of the family Malvaceae that helps to reduce inflammation; esp. use in cosmetics to reduce inflammation, age lines and eye swelling.
- Melanin:
- The substance in skin and eyes, which provides color or pigment.
- Melanoma:
- A cancerous tumor of the skin that begins in the cells which produce melanin. Although it can be dangerous or even fatal if left untreated or it spreads to other parts of the body; melanoma is almost always curable in its early stages.
- Milia:
- a small white or yellowish nodule resembling a millet seed, produced in the skin by the retention of sebaceous secretion.
- Moisturizer:
- A product, often found in a lotion, cream or salve, which helps the skin to retain or add moisture.
