- Salicylic acid:
- A mild acid often used to cleanse the skin or as an ingredient to many popular acne treatments such as Pro-Activ.
- Sebaceous Hyperplasia:
- enlargement of a part due to an abnormal numerical increase of its cells, which secretes fat or sebum.
- SPF:
- Sun Protection Factor. The SPF number indicates the multiple of normal tolerance a person can sustain before burning. For example, if a person normally burns after 1 hour in the sun, a sunscreen with an SPF 5 should allow them to stay 5 times as long until they get burned and so forth.
- Sunblock:
- A more concentrated form of sunscreen.
- Sunscreen:

- Surfactant:
- Any product which increases solubility, foaming, emulsifying or wetting properties of a liquid.
